How You’re Looked After
When suffering from the delays outlined above, the airline has to provide the following:
A reasonable amount of food and drink
Means of communication
Accommodation (if delayed overnight)
Transport to and from accommodation (or your home, if close enough)
As a form of easyJet compensation, you’ll be provided with all of the above until you can get to your destination. This will continue however long the delay is, whatever it was caused by.
easyJet Compensation for Delayed Flights
In terms of financial awards, your flight needs to arrive at its destination at least three hours later than scheduled before you can claim anything for flight delay. You can receive different amounts based on the length of your journey.
Short destinations (up to 1,500km) qualify for £220. Medium trips (between 1,500km and 3,500km) can get you £350. Longer trips (over 3,500km) go as high as £520. You can see how these amounts compare in the table below.
As an additional caveat, the airline has to be responsible for the delay. If not, you won’t be able to claim easyJet compensation.
Extraordinary Circumstances
Your delay may be due to several factors that are outside the control of the airline. In such situations, you will not be entitled to compensation.

When it comes to cancellations, there are a few different scenarios that you might encounter.
Five Hour Delay
If you were delayed by five hours before the flight was cancelled, you don’t have to take the next (or alternative) flight. You will be issued a full refund if you no longer wish to take the trip.
Cancellation With 7–14 Days’ Notice
Airlines can cancel planned trips at any moment. If yours was cancelled between 1 and 2 weeks of the scheduled date, you can make a claim for easyJet compensation. The amounts are similar to what you’d receive for a delayed flight as it’s based on the timings of the alternative you’re offered.

UK Law for Cancellations
Cancelled flights covered by UK regulations are open to two options. You can either receive a refund for all parts of your ticket you haven’t used or an alternative flight. It’s entirely up to you when to travel using this new flight. It doesn’t have to be the same day.
