Who’s Pogust Goodhead?

Under its parent group PGMBM Ltd, Pogust Goodhead is a law firm based in London and has been operating since 2018. It was previously known as SPG Law Limited. According to data on Companies House, the law branch has been incorporated since 2007. Thomas Goodhead is the current active director.

Its newest website, My Finance Claim, is their latest venture into helping and advising the public about mis-sold PCP claims. This has been tipped to potentially be as big as the PPI scandal was.

As solicitors, they are registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), which acts as a regulator in the industry. This is one way you can check that they are genuine. Data on the SRA website shows that more than 50 people working at Pogust Goodhead are regulated.

Divisions of Pogust Goodhead

There are a few different websites Pogust Goodhead owns that specifically focus on a certain aspect they specialise in.

Two of their consumer and product liability claims focus on:

  • Diesel emissions

  • Mis-sold PCP

Diesel Emissions

Nitrous Oxides

When it comes to the emissions of diesel vehicles, they have often been recorded as being much more polluting than first thought. While the arrival of diesel was originally proposed to be environmentally friendly, it turns out it’s anything but. As such, vehicle manufacturers have been under scrutiny ever since the dieselgate scandal.

When the Volkswagen Group was discovered with defeat devices in their vehicles, it sent ripples throughout the automotive world. With the help of solicitors worldwide, the car manufacturer settled their dispute out of court. This was a way of compensating drivers for being mis-sold a highly polluting diesel vehicle.

Back in April 2021, Pogust Goodhead launched its My Diesel Claim website. This was a way of channelling customers to the appropriate page for relevant information.

“We are committed to giving our clients a voice against multi-national corporations. It’s time that companies were held accountable for their impacts on health, the environment, and for costing customers money.”

Chris Neill – Partner and Chief Legal Officer at Pogust Goodhead

Mis-sold PCP

Anyone who bought a car, van or motorbike through personal contract purchase (PCP) or hire purchase (HP) could have been mis-sold their agreement in a number of different ways. This could be because various details weren’t communicated properly or because of hidden commissions.

Martin Lewis is covering the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) investigation into mis-sold PCP claims before 2021. Due to a huge number of complaints to the regulator, they will be ruling whether there was widespread misconduct for hidden commissions before it became illegal.

In January, Pogust Goodhead launched its My Finance Claim website. This is in preparation for the potential wave of compensation claims that will hit the market after the FCA’s ruling. The investigation is set to finish in September 2024. If the scale of mis-sold PCP is as big as expected, it could be worth £10 billion or more.

“This is a watershed moment. It’s high time that lenders are held to account over unfair practices that have left consumers unnecessarily out-of-pocket. We’re committed to advocating on behalf of all those affected and securing them the compensation they deserve.”

“Explained guidance clearly

The lady I was talking to from Pogust Goodhead was lovely, very pleasant, polite and knowledgeable. She explained everything very clearly, her guidance was very helpful in advising me in what information I needed and what would happen to proceed, she answered every question I asked her with good clarification and gave me reassurance that assistance and support would be available at any time I had a query in the process of moving forward with my claim.”

While you can find cherry-picked reviews across their websites, it’s worth looking at the bigger picture presented on independent sites. Searching for common trends throughout negative reviews can give you a better idea about the various complaints customers have in processing their claims.
